Online Gift Certificates Now Available.
Just in time for Father’s Day, online gift certificates are now available at www.ascentbodywork.com. Just click to purchase, and a printable gift certificate will be emailed to you within 24 hours. This feature can also be used to pre-pay for your own sessions with a credit card, since I am still unable to take credit cards in office.
Coming Soon: ORiEnTspiration™ Teas!
I am very pleased to announce that a delicious line of loose-leaf teas and tea accessories are on order. Some of the tantalizing flavors that Ascent Bodywork will be offering include Citron Green, Lavender, and my favorite, Strawberry Black. Too hot for a cup of tea? Take it from me. There is nothing as wonderful as a cup of Iced Strawberry Black tea! Beautiful tea pots and tea cups will be available, as well as funky tea infusers and books about tea.
Online Calendar Temporarily Disabled
Due to technical difficulties, the Ascent Bodywork one calendar has been temporarily disabled. Please feel free to call me for availability at 828-406-6902. I hope to have the issue resolved by the end of June.
Top 5 Ways to Maximize Your Massage
5. Give yourself plenty of time. Too often in this day and age, we rush from one appointment to the next in a virtual tornado of business. Give yourself a little extra time for your massage, if you are able. Take a few minutes after the session to lie still and soak in the wonderful post-massage feelings. Don’t worry; extra time has been scheduled for you at Ascent Bodywork, just for that purpose.
4. Avoid a large meal right before your massage appointment. Eating a large meal just before your session can make some massage techniques uncomfortable. Plus, your body will be busy with the work of digesting, instead of focused on the bliss of a relaxing massage.
3. Talk to me about discomfort of any kind. Too often, massage clients suffer through discomfort during their session. The time that you set aside for massage at Ascent Bodywork is all about you. The pressure of the massage strokes, the music playing, and the temperature of the table can all be adjusted to make your session just the way you like it. It is my pleasure to make it so!
2. Breathe. All of the tissues in our body depend on the oxygen that we breathe. Sometimes on the massage table, you might get the urge to take a big, deep breath, or to sigh or yawn. No reason to be shy about that. I may even encourage you to breathe during your session, so sigh and yawn away!
1. Relax. I have found that it is best to play the part of a well-cooked spaghetti noodle when I am receiving massage. There is no need to assist the massage therapist in lifting your arm, leg, or head. If the therapist does need your assistance in moving you, they will ask.
I look forward to seeing all of you this summer at Ascent Bodywork! Call today for an appointment 828-406-6902!
